Who We Are
We are a group of people that have been changed from the inside out by the grace of God, that have a Relationship with Jesus Christ and have left Religion behind, that are learning how to love and serve each other, and even though we are weak and broken, are being transformed into people that live above our circumstances and are finding deep satisfaction each day as we drink from the life-giving water that Jesus gives us.
The River Church is a Community of Bible believing Christians, our goal is to love God fully and to love people unconditionally. We do this by being Christ centered, Spirit led, and Biblically motivated. We believe that God has placed us in the Mira Mesa locale in order to bring hope, help and encouragement to this community. The River’s presence at Salk Elementary School on Sundays is our main gathering place, but we also meet in homes during the week. If you come our way, I believe that you will experience two things: you will be accepted and loved just as you are and secondly you will be greeted with genuine friendliness and care. There is a place for you here, you are welcome at our table. There is plenty of love to go around. Come and rejoice with us in God’s love and kindness! I look forward to meeting you,
“Jesus answered and said…., “Everyone who drinks of this water will thirst again; but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him shall never thirst; but the water that I will give him will become in him a well of water springing up to eternal life.”
What we love about our Church
The Church of Jesus Christ is not a building. It is a living, breathing body of believers united in Him and through Him to live for Him, energized and animated by His love to love others.
We consider each other family in the truest and deepest sense.
Here are some of the things we love about our church in our own words . . .
You will never find a more wonderful church than The River! You will be taught Truth by an amazing Bible teacher (Pastor Don), made to feel loved and important (by his sweet wife Renee), and allowed to be real (by the best, most loving church family on the planet). The River is a rare and special place that will always have my heart!

What I LOVE about our church is how you're embraced from day one. When you walk through the door you feel loved no matter what...I LOVE our teaching... I LOVE our worship...I LOVE that we can ALWAYS be real about what we're going through without fear of rejection or judgment...I LOVE that we all have a commonality: we KNOW we need a Savior.
